CALL FOR ACTION
On July 12th, 2006 Hezbollah captured two Israeli soldiers. The resistance’s military action was used as a pretext to immediately launch a massive, premeditated military aggression against Lebanon. Lebanon’s infrastructure was targeted and hundreds of Lebanese civilians were massacred. Over 700,000 civilians [20% of Lebanon’s population] were forced to find refuge in Beirut and the North. Israel has imposed a sea, air and land blockade on Lebanon, preventing all vital supplies from reaching the people. Relief efforts are being deliberately targeted therefore preventing them from reaching distressed civilians in the areas under attack.
These deliberate Israeli actions are in clear violation of International Humanitarian Law and rise to the level of war crimes according to the Geneva Convention and their additional Protocols, as well as the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
In addition, Israel is using internationally banned weapons prohibited by the United Nations Charter and other international conventions (mainly the Geneva Convention and the Hague Convention).
In an abhorring spin, while killing, maiming and uprooting civilians, destroying towns, villages, houses, schools, roads, bridges, hospitals, airports, and seaports, and aiming at causing a humanitarian catastrophe in Lebanon, Israel is claiming that its military action aims at implementing United Nations Security Council Resolution 1559. Needless to say, under no circumstances should Israel be allowed to implement it.
Israel has continuously refused for more than fifty years to abide by any UN Resolutions on Palestine, including General Assembly Resolution 194 and UN Security Council Resolutions 242 and 338.
THE SITUATION IS CATASTROPHIC AND YOUR ACTION IS NEEDED
Act now for an immediate and unconditional cease-fire.
Act now for the immediate and unconditional lift of the Israeli embargo.
Act now to help the displaced population.
Act now to spread the word. Call your representative. Talk to the media.

These thinks happen when the most powerful country in the World is on the hands of a fanatic, lunatic and criminal man, George Bush. It is time for the International Court of Justice in the Hague or the United Nations to arrest and judge this dangerous, fool man and all his henchmen (Tony Blair, Condoleza Rice, Dick Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, etc) for crimes against Humanity.

Thank you for coming together in Solidarity! I admire your efforts and pray for your safety amidst all that is happening in Lebanon. This movement came in answer to a question that a Lebanese friend of mine asked 2 days ago... She asked me to meet with her and through the tears rolling down her cheeks and in her wavering voice said "I want to help my people, I want it to be unified, I don't want any political or sectarian affiliations and I know that there are others like me but I need to find them... Please help me find them. I can't sit still and watch this, I want to help. I want a cease fire"
God sent us the answer... The answer was this blog! I got an email from a colleague in Dubai with information on Muwatinun. My heart filled with hope and I immediately called my friend and said they found us. God has helped us and this is the answer to your question.
We started spreading the word since yesterday and are receiving contributions from friends, colleagues and family members to send across to you. We are with you in spirit and we will do our best to help in any way that we can.

Suggestion: Hi guys hope you're all doing well. i'm in Jordan. I have made calls with the jordanian embassy in Lebanon (Ba'abda) and with the ministry of foreign affairs here in jordan. A huge number of ppl here are trying to contribute in donations of basic needs as well as money. Almost 10 buses belonging to the embassy leave Jordan (at least 3 times a week after evacuating jordanians from lebanon) empty where they could be used to transport those donations all the way to Baabda. What i would like is, once these donations arrive, would Mowatinun community be able to receive them & take care of the distributions?

i'm a muslim in germany and feel very sad at the desastorous attack without declaring war by isralis against libanon, a country which is not in a position to defend itself or retaliate with same weapons.10 times and more casualities and how are they reacting with us warmakers, as if they are hit on the heart. God is there to justify and a time will come that the evil will perish. Libanon must in future be in a position to defend itself as a powerful nation, so that israel may not dare to raise its power against any neighbouring countries. i wish a punishment of these isralis, americans and the europeans who are siding the aggressor, may go down and never rise.
